1) Explain the client requirements of this brief,
outlining which are explicit, implicit and open to interpretation. (10)
The client requirements of this brief explicitly say that they want to create a short promotional video to use on a website. They also explicitly require a list of certain things to be short in the video, (like the name, logo, contact details and more listed in the brief). As well as this they also explicitly highlight the aimed target audience of 8-14 year old (however, it's open to interpretation to what specific age they target within that) and is explicit that the video needs to be day in 5 weeks. In addition, the bried implicitly says that due to it being aimed at children, 8-14 yearsold, the video must be suitable. Also, it is open to interpretation how long the video will be. Despite it explicitly saying 20-40 seconds, it is open to interpretation of where in that category it will actually be and choice of background music that will appeal to the target audience.
2) What logistical issues can you foresee when creating
this video? (4)
When creating this video you may foresee some logistical issues such as meeting the 5 weeks deadline, or a strain in time to complete all that is needed to be in the short promotional video, therefor you might need to do quick planning such as a gantt chart where you can meet deadlines and the production schedule perfectly.
3) What potential legal issues will need to be
addressed? Outline briefly the impact each one may have on the project and how
they might be dealt with. (8)
· Release form/permission from parents – working with
children
· Contracts – short working hours for children
· Location release form – public or private
· Copyright of music
Impact: Release form/permission – can’t use the children
without this legally, and this is key to the project
· Contracts – unless these are signed, children can’t
work at all, once working hours are agreed rest of project needs to work
around this
· Location release form – if in a public area, council
permission generally needed, if private then the owner must sign the release
form
*MIND MAP*
- mention specific target audience form the brief
5) Identify two costs associated with filming the
advert for Zoo Shoes and explain how these costs impact on the project (4)
One list is the cost of hiring out locations - would impact the project as without different locations the video will be simple/boring so may not seem appealing. Also cost of care for children in the video e.g., food/water/ shelter as if these are not payed for the children won't feel comfortable and mat not want to take part in the video.
6) What market research could be done,
and what is one outcome of this market research? (3)
You could do an online survey to hear about the customers of zoo shoes and what they like so that you can make the children's shoe advert meet the customers likes and preferences. By doing an online severe it's very accessible and easy for the researcher to measure.
7) Identify one type of project
management tool that you could use to keep track of the project tasks and
explain why it is suitable for this project. (3)
You could use a Gantt Chart to keep track of the Production schedule as it's an easy way to follow and see the timeline of what has been completed and when/where things need to be completed, by the 5 week's tight deadline.

· Production schedule
· Shooting schedule

8) The film
needs to be tested before it is sent to the Client for approval. Outline what
type of research this is and how you could go about completing this research. (3)
You could do a SWOT analysis to text your films strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and what you could improve and change in order to make it perfect and appropriate for your target audience. You could do this through market research and doing focus groups, questionnaires or screenings.
